About Renee Mueller
Contemporary Fine Artist
Renee earned a BFA in Dance and Choreography from the University of Michigan. She danced professionally and was honored to teach dance at the University of Michigan's Musical Theater and Theater Departments. After a beautiful career in the performing arts, Renee became a full-time working artist and has found the journey from dance to art incredibly inspiring, humbling, and remarkable.
Being a dancer gave her a unique perspective on the creative process. She is passionate about teaching others how to step into the flow of creativity, embrace the beauty of their unique gifts, and unearth their style and voice as artists.
My creative process is a personal exploration that reflects how I see the world. Through my work, I aim to express my love of nature, travel, and theater. I curate visual inspiration, work in sketchbooks, and experiment until the art is revealed.
Renee lives in Ann Arbor, Michigan, with her husband Marc, who continues to support all her creative dreams, and their beautiful daughter Olivia.

Renee’s experience as a dancer and choreographer enriches her teaching by offering artists a unique perspective on flow, rhythm, and expression. Her understanding of movement translates into guiding artists to create dynamic and alive work, encouraging them to explore their creativity with freedom and confidence.
By drawing on her journey from performance to visual art, Renee helps artists connect with their authentic voices, embrace vulnerability as part of the creative process, and transform their ideas into meaningful, expressive works. This holistic approach empowers artists to break through creative blocks, discover new depths in their practice, and cultivate a lasting sense of purpose in their art.
